Amalgam fillings, also commonly known as “silver” fillings, start to leak and break down over time. It is important to monitor these closely before the old silver fillings cause bigger harm to your teeth. Our patient presented with significant decay and fracture around this molar tooth with a large silver filling. Using our CEREC same-day crown technology, Dr. Cho was able to restore this tooth with a life-like porcelain crown in less than 2 hours. CEREC technology allows us to make beautiful final restorations without the need of messy impression materials and 2 weeks-long temporary phase!
Our patient presented with multiple teeth that were causing him discomfort to biting and sensitivity. These teeth had old silver fillings that he had done decades ago. Over time these fillings started to break down and led to severe cracks in his teeth. Using a combination of white composite filling and our CEREC same-day crown technology, our patient left with beautiful healthy teeth that turned the clock back a few decades in one visit!

Our patient presented with a dark cavity along the gumline that wrapped around into the in-betweens of her teeth. Along with the cavities being unhealthy for her teeth, she was also very concerned with how they looked in her smile! Using conservative tooth-colored composite fillings the cavities were restored, and the result was healthy, beautiful teeth now matching her beautiful smile.
Accidents happen to everyone. Fortunately for our pediatric patient, we were able to bring him into our office right away as an emergency appointment. After a thorough examination, Dr. Cho was able to conservatively restore the broken tooth with a tooth-colored composite filling (“bonding”), like nothing ever happened. One of the most common variations of teeth are “peg” teeth. In these cases, patients are born with permanent teeth that are smaller than what it should be. Our patient here was always conscious of her small front tooth which also contributed to more food packing that led to cavities in adjacent teeth. Using one natural porcelain veneer and white composite fillings, Dr. Cho was able to restore health and beauty to her smile, our patient was thrilled. The veneer was so conservative that Dr. Cho did not have to take any tooth structure away!
Although we try our best to save all teeth, sometimes tooth loss is inevitable. However, in most cases we are able to bring back the lost tooth using implants! Missing teeth for extended periods of time have significant consequences such as teeth shifting, teeth over-erupting, and further bone loss, in addition to the inability to chew properly and smile. Here, our patient lost a front tooth and chipped his other front tooth with a crown.
